What a fantastic day yesterday in Garland ISD!! We had a few hundred teachers attend Teach Like A Rock Star at the Garland Special Events Center (a totally beautiful venue, by the way). I knew it was going to be a great event because when Georgia booked the gig, she said, "I just talked with the absolute coolest principal on the planet! Her name is Kenda Willingham at Davis Elementary!!"Georgia was telling the truth! Kenda was AMAZING. The venue was incredible, the teachers were awesome, AND I even got to have lunch with some super-inspiring educators.
OH! Let's not forget my new BFF - Gwen! She was so fun to have on stage. And, I found out later it was her birthday!! How perfect is that?? I hope that standing ovation you experienced made for a great day, Gwen.
Thanks to EVERYONE in attendance yesterday. You all made it a very special experience!
